"Gustav-Adolf-Straße, Berlin" is a film about a street in transition. A street formerly characterised by crafts and industry, which felt the impact of the reunification with all its consequences of factory closures and expropriations of business people particularly strongly. A street characterised by former GDR residents who still define themselves as such; a street of business people who are fighting to revive this dying neighbourhood that has seen better days.

But the street is also a playground for the excavators and cranes of property developers, who build and renovate wherever possible. Weißensee, the district in which Gustav-Adolf-Straße is located, borders on the neighbouring, very chic district of Prenzlauer Berg, which could accommodate the growing population. This district is therefore once again facing a profound upheaval.
